Vince Lane

Director & Chartered Financial Planner

I graduated in 1981 and joined a graduate programme in Financial Services. Following this in 1985 I established a directly authorised Financial Services business in conjunction with a Firm of West End accountants.

In 1988, having gained a wealth of experience with both individual and corporate clients I joined R & S Associates as a Partner.  During this time I continued to develop Professional Connections with Accountants and Solicitors, advising both Individual and Corporate.

Clients that we advise are from all walks of life including Medical, Media, Sports, Entertainment and Professionals who have very busy lives. Regardless of background all like to find a Trusted Adviser who can assist them with their planning to secure their Future Wellbeing.

I believe a very important part of our Professional Development is ongoing Exams. I have completed all the relevant examinations to become Chartered, as well as being a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.  To assist with my working alongside Family Lawyers, I have taken all the Associated Advice Exams. I am a Member of Resolution which is a Community of Professionals who work with Families and Individuals to resolve matrimonial disputes in a constructive way.

Away from the office, I have a passion for music and in particular, Jazz.   I also have a passion for climbing mountains and have done so for many years, although the mountain seems to get higher and harder as the years go on!

Darren Berry

Chartered Financial Planner

I started working in Financial Services in 1987 in the City of London. After 20 years in various corporate roles, with insurance companies Axa and Aviva, and then with the Swiss private bank UBS, I decided it was the right time use the experience gained in an advice role.

For me the most enjoyable part of the role is working with our clients. Meeting new people and hearing their story and understanding where they are in life, how they have got there, and what lies ahead is fascinating, as everyone is unique.

If I can help them make some sensible informed decisions around their future options, I find this very rewarding.

Having left school thinking I had finished with formal exams, I have taken numerous professional exams throughout my career (and continue to do so). I hold the Chartered Financial Planner status and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. I am also a designated Trust and Estate Practitioner through STEP.

Helping clients protect what they have, and successfully transfer their wealth to future generations, whilst ensuring they retain sufficient to support their desired lifestyle, is an area of advice I enjoy. This often results in working closely and collaboratively with the client’s legal advisers.

Outside work, I have been married to Marie since 2003, and we have two children. We enjoy walking in the local Kent countryside where we live, especially if a pub beer garden can be included in the route! I enjoy a social round of golf, and a day at the test match with friends is a regular summer event.

Many of our clients share their travel experiences with us, which means the travel bucket list is growing but hopefully we will be ticking them off soon.
